There is no blanket answer. Every scenario has clear advantages and equally clear drawbacks — sometimes everything points to your own server, sometimes to the cloud.
Your own server often pays off long term, especially if you plan to grow. The cloud costs per seat and month — that hurts less at the start but adds up over the years. Which sum works out for you depends on your numbers.
